Mark Hattley's smallish, truly gorgeus looking bar is certainly one of the most beautiful on the island. It has Djed music, exhibits by local artist, the consummate host, plus a finger placed firmly on the local club scene pulse. The view over the port from the little balcony is sublime

The trendiest looking bar on Formentera, which lives by it´s name – being incredibly blue in colour. Adorned with little space men with quite a flower power feel to it, it is the hip hang out spot for the locals. Serving an array of fantastic cocktails from Capirinhas to Manhattans and a typical menu of Pastas, seafood, meats, salads and of course bread and ali-oli you should find something there to suit all tastes. Opened up just in the Summer of 2005, you will find the Eden Rooms in the middle of "UpTown" Westend (although they are very much located at the bottom end of the street!). Popular for pre-parties such as Garlands. Going along the strong, popular theme of Lounge-Bar, you will find a cooler set of people who are fed up of the party party side of San Antonio's once notorious street, and like to sit in their comfortable sofas, soak up the atmosphere listening to the likes of Tristan Ingram.

Popular with Ibiza Locals and the winter set, you will find that Grial plays a good variation of music. Nice on the terrace in the Summer sipping cocktails pre-Pacha.

Hush is the new worker-friendly "Cool" bar based in San Antonio. Run by Jimi "Deja", Filthy Gorgeous last year hosted every Saturday evening with their signature house and electro sparkle. Residents Scott Martin & Jamie Gittins will host this forthcoming summer season,

Mainly frequented by local yacht owners and the international crowd, Keeper is a good pre-party cocktail bar in the Summer for El Divino, Penelopes and Pacha.

Remarkable out-of-town venue, with sensational decor, the seating and cushions housed in gardens and Arabic tents, outdoor bars, comfy settees dug into subterranean pits etc. It's a riot of colour and style. The actual building is impressive too, an ex-brothel whose dancefloor grooves to funky House. The restaurant itself providing a simple but effective menu with the food quality (great grilled meat and fish), the pasta and the salads being truly second to none. The first venture in Ibiza Town for Mr Mambo himself Javier, Kube is situated at the front of the port near Base and Rock. Although quite small inside, there is comfortable terracing out front to sip champagne and watch the world mince by.

Home of the authentic Saturday hippie market and an almost spiritual gathering point for the island's 'alternative' thinkers, plus local Ibicencos. The garden hosts the incredible Namasté on Wednesdays - a chilled Eastern culture happening that serves Asiatic vegetarian dishes to hundreds, with spontaneous music and performance acts - a marvel. Thursdays are devoted to successful live band night tributes to Ibiza-hippie related acts like Bob Marley, Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones, in the large main room venue.

Pirata Bus is a well-established bar / restaurant that has always been popular with both locals and visitors alike. Offering a party like vibe it´s doors are open to the wide array of both hedonists and naturists that Formentera attracts.

Although located close to San Antonio's West End, Plastik is an oasis of calm and coolness while the party outside rages on. Very in with the cooler crowd of San An-ites and frequented and owned by the famous "Ibiza-Author" of "Is Harry on the Boat" and "A bus could run you over" Colin Butts. You will find Dermot on the decks most nights, keeping this cool place a step ahead of the rest.

Located at the top of its hippest beach, Ibiza's coolest chiringuito is invariably rammed with cosmopolitan, hippie-clubber types, the bar-restaurant and surrounds gently caressed by the funky chilled sounds of DJ Jonathan, whose positive musical inspirations doubtless spring from endless lazy days spent gazing out over acres of beautifully-maintained flesh.

Teatro Pereira is a fantastic live music bar set in the heart of Ibiza's Old Town Open nightly as well as throughout the winter you can find brilliant local bands as well as singers flown in from all over the world. Every night sees the bar jumping while the band is on, with a mixture of nationalities singing and dancing along to blues, R&B, reggae, rock and jazz. Popular with the more affluent - it is quite pricey, it has kept all the charm of what it was known as formerly - a 29th Century Ibicencan Theatre.

Nick's bar has long wandered gypsy-like from home to home, an enduring legend. In this latest location it features a large (by port standards), comfy and impressive interior and has credible resident and guest DJs.

UpMarket by day is a one stop shop featuring WiFi, a large internet café, office, printing, and travel services including flights, ferries, club tickets and boat parties. By night UpMarket undergoes a magical transformation and becomes the Up Lounge. Meeting place for discerning clubbers and by far the most beautiful bar in the West End. So if you want something a bit more classy than the usual dark and dingy west end watering holes, then drop into the Up Lounge.
